Is there a way to replace an image in the Media Gallery?

I have an image I have uploaded a long time ago in the media gallery and want to keep the views/the link/ etc. just want to update the image with a newer one without losing all the statistics. How do I do this or is there a way? Could potentially be a useful addon if there isn't a way?
